Sunshine, community, and generosity made this year’s Proudworks Annual Charity Golf Outing an unforgettable day.
Despite uncertain forecasts leading up to the event, the weather held out beautifully, allowing more than 150 golfers, sponsors, volunteers, and supporters to enjoy a full day of golf, great food, friendly competition, and meaningful connections—all in support of the Proudworks mission.
This year’s outing reached several exciting milestones. The tournament sold out, every sponsorship was secured—including an additional bonus sponsorship—and nearly half of the golfers were first-time participants, introducing many new friends to Proudworks and our mission. We were also grateful to McAlister’s Deli in Florence for generously providing breakfast, helping everyone start the day on a high note.
One of the day’s most memorable moments came during closing remarks when Brandon shared his personal story about the impact Proudworks has had on his life. He also spoke about the unwavering encouragement and love of our legendary host and his brother, Lewis Johnson, whose decades of support have helped elevate this event and inspire so many. Brandon’s heartfelt words were a powerful reminder that behind every fundraiser are lives being changed through opportunity, encouragement, and community.
Our volunteer team was equally impressive. We welcomed several new volunteer groups, including members of the Northern Wrestling Federation (NWF) and BlueStar, while our longtime friends from TriState Connections once again brought their enthusiasm and dedication to help make the day run seamlessly.
The outing also reflected the heart of Proudworks in another special way. One of our own client golfers proudly represented us as part of a Proudworks foursome, bringing his experience as a Northern Kentucky Special Olympics golfer to the course and reminding everyone why this event matters.
And sometimes the best stories come full circle. Returning supporter Charlie Baker and his team joined us once again, and Charlie capped off the day by taking home the NWF raffle basket—a fitting ending to another memorable outing.
