JOB SUMMARY

Supervising adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a Day Training/Work Activity
setting.

Program Supervision-direct supervision and training to improve and maintain clients independent daily
living skills and work-related skills.

Assist in organizing and planning daily activities throughout the day.

Work Supervision-training, performance and quality improvement of clients in an assembly oriented
light manufacturing work environment.

Community Access-organizing and facilitating community activities to increase opportunities for
community inclusion.

Case Supervision-formulate, implement, and maintain individual client program plans. Keep related
documentation and communication within regulation and accreditation parameters.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

  • Qualified candidates must have strong people skills.
  • Implement plans of care and behavior management plans for persons served.
  • Plan and implement individualized and/or group training programs that meet the needs of clients and referral/, funding sources. i.e.: self-help skills, communication development, interpersonal, social, and adaptive skills.
  • Run production jobs including training clients on jobs, supplying, and maintaining quality control standards.
  • Planning and taking clients on community-based activities.
  • Maintain adequate documentation related to individualized and/or group training provided.
  • Provide support and assistance to counselors as needed to ensure the success of the Community Rehabilitation Services Program.
  • Provide resource assistance to other facility staff as directed.
  • Maintain production day sheets/records as assigned for caseload.
  • Orient new clients to programs assigned.
  • Convey a positive image of BAWAC.
  • Safety/Health/Housekeeping.
  • Completing other Community Rehabilitation Services Specialist responsibilities and duties as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written English.
  • Ability to perform direct demonstration training for a client population diagnosed with developmental and intellectual disabilities.
  • Assist persons served in carrying out daily living skills.
  • Must be able to be physically active on the production floor to assist clients and other staff as needed. Includes lifting up to 20 lbs.
  • Physical stamina to assist clients with disabilities, i.e. assist with transitioning, etc.
  • Must be able to bend, crouch, squat, and be able to push wheelchairs without restriction.
  • Quality Control

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCЕ

  • Bachelor’s degree in human services related field and/or 3+ years experience in areas directly related to the position preferred.
  • Prior experience working with people with disabilities a plus.
  • Strong computer aptitude
