Susina started in Community Rehabilitation Services in 2016. When Susina started she was very shy and reserved. While hesitant to attend the program, Susina was eager to work and learn new jobs. She proved to be a hard and diligent worker with good attention to her task while performing high quality work. Over time, Susina began to become more comfortable with her social skills and her confidence continued to build. Staff began to encourage her to consider working in competitive integrated employment. Susina wasn’t so sure about this, and it took her some time to come around to the idea. Eventually she did and made the decision that she wanted to start the Supported Employment process. With the help of staff, Susina was able to identify the type of job she wanted and was hired at a local apparel distribution and outlet center. Susina has successfully maintained her position since 2023 and does a great job. She still attends and works at Proudworks on the days she doesn’t work her other job.
